Location
You will be walking with an expert local guide and a small group of other walkers in the Sierras de Almijara y de Tejeda, a mountain chain in Andalucia, southern Spain, which forms the natural separation between the provinces of Málaga and Granada with impressive mountains Maroma (2068 m) and El Lucero (1779 m).

The white village Cómpeta (altitude 640 m) hides in the southern hills at the end of a long valley. Cómpeta is located about 70 km (an hour’s drive) east from Málaga Airport with many cheap flights from the UK. A public bus runs three times daily between Cómpeta and the city of Málaga (public busfare from the airport to Cómpeta € 7,50).

Cómpeta with *** hotel Balcón de Cómpeta is thus the perfect starting point for a walking holiday in southern Spain. Cómpeta has many good restaurants, the first and last night we will enjoy our dinner in the restaurant of the hotel, the other nights we will sample the other restaurants in the village.
